I am firmly in the Christopher Pike camp. Just seeing all these covers makes me feverish with anticipation, just like when I was addicted to trashy YA horror as a pre-young adult! Christopher Pike's plots were more interesting, and definitely more supernatural. R.L. Stine was basically cookie-cutter horror, which is why he was much more successful writing to 8-12 year olds with Goosebumps instead of teenagers with Fear Street.

Slumber Party by Christopher Pike was one of my favorite books in 7th grade. I have re-read it several times and it's still good...and I'm 27.
